Meet Dr. Whitaker

Pima Dermatology is proud to have Dr. Duane Whitaker as our Staff Mohs Surgeon. Dr. Whitaker is an experienced and excellent surgeon who has performed surgery for over 30 years. Prior to joining the team at Pima Dermatology, he served as Professor and Director of Dermatologic Surgery at the University of Iowa. He has taught and trained over 130 Resident Physicians and 20 Post-Graduate Fellows who specialize in Mohs Surgery and the treatment of skin cancer. He has also served as Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona and has been elected President of three national organizations which provide education and leadership in skin surgery and treatment of skin cancer. Most recently, he was president of the National Mohs College.
  
Dr. Whitaker has served on the Board of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, one of the largest accrediting agencies of healthcare organizations in the country. He has authored over 100 publications and served as Scientific Program Chairman for the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting in Washington, DC in 2007. He has served on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery and has been sited in the publication, "Best Doctors in America " for many years.

Dr. Whitaker is one of the leading Mohs Surgeons in the U.S. and equally important, he is a patient-centered physician.
