Liza S. Byrne, MPA-C

Physician Assistant

Liza S. Byrne, MPA-C is a Certified Physician Assistant who received her Master’s Degree in Medical Science at Oregon Health and Sciences University School of Medicine in Portland, Oregon.

As a part of her degree studies, Liza completed specialized clinical rotations in Dermatology and Reconstructive Surgery. Her formal medical training has been augmented by a focused dermatologic training period under the direction of Gerald N. Goldberg, M.D.

Raised in Tucson, Arizona, Liza has a keen interest in treating sun damaged skin and is skilled in the diagnosis of skin cancer. In addition to performing her own skin cancer treatments, she assists Dr. Duane Whitaker with Mohs surgeries. Liza is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, rashes, acne, rosacea and warts. She performs surgical excisions and general skin cancer and mole checks and is certified in multiple laser modalities.

Her professional affiliations include membership in the American Academy of Physicians Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the Tucson Dermatology Society. Like all Physician Assistants, Liza is licensed to practice Medicine by the Board of Medical Examiners and the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants. She is passionate about Dermatology and strives to provide thorough, comprehensive and accessible care to her patients.

In her spare time, Liza enjoys playing bass guitar and harmonica with her band, Ferrodyne. She is an avid rock climber, having competed at the national level.
