Freshening Peels
Treats: Wrinkles, Wrinkle correction, Age Spots, Brown Spot Removal, Melasma, Mask of pregnancy
Conditions Treated:
Sun damaged skin, prematurely aged skin, finely wrinkled skin, irregular or non-uniform skin color, dull complexion, acne prone skin types, and melasma.
Treatment overview:
The freshening peel is accomplished with relatively mild agents such as glycolic acid, Jessner’s solution, salicylic acid, or low strength Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA). The goal of these peels is to produce superficial effects, with little irritation, mild redness and no downtime. With a series of 3-6 peels at 2-4 week intervals, a smoother texture and more even skin tone can be expected.
The Procedure:
Following pre-treatment photographs and cleansing, the peeling agent is applied to the entire face. A mild tingling or burning sensation may be experienced during the treatment, but the discomfort is usually transitory and well tolerated. Discomfort of variable severity may be present for a couple of hours after the peel and is easily relieved by cold compresses. Mild redness and minimal swelling or peeling can be expected after the procedure.
Post-Treatment:
Following the treatment a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher is mandatory.
