Pima Dermatology in the Community...
Dr. Goldberg is the sponsoring Dermatologist for the Ocotillo Ridge Elementary School Sun Shade Program. The school was selected by the American Academy of Dermatology to receive a grant for an extensive sun shade structure. This structure provides both shade and ultraviolet(UV) protection for the school's playground area.
With skin cancer rates in Arizona being among the highest in the world, it is of the utmost importance to protect as many children as possible. Since most sun exposure is received before the age of 18, one way to reduce this alarming statistic is to educate and provide shelter from UV rays.
In August 2009, Dr. Goldberg provided a "Sun Safety Assembly" for the students of Ocotillo Ridge Elementary.
